Senior Radiation Oncologist
Dr Dasantha Jayamanne is a highly experienced Senior Radiation Oncologist with a strong clinical focus on malignancies of the lung, central nervous system, and the head and neck. He is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team, with particular emphasis on symptom control and the use of advanced, evidence-based radiation therapy techniques.
Dr Jayamanne is completing a PhD at the University of Sydney, where his research centres on lung cancer, specifically the use of Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) in the treatment of primary lung tumours. He also holds a Diploma in Palliative Care, reflecting his integrated approach to symptom management and quality of life.
Actively involved in clinical research, Dr Jayamanne is a lead investigator on several national and international trials, with frequent publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. He is a sought-after speaker at both national and international conferences and contributes extensively to medical education through teaching and mentoring medical students and oncology trainees.
Dr Jayamanne is a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). He is the former president of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology Lung Interest Cooperative (FROLIC) and maintains active memberships in several clinical and research organisations worldwide.
He currently practises as a Senior Radiation Oncologist at Royal North Shore Hospital, North Shore Respiratory and Sleep in Cammeray, GenesisCare NSW, and Western NSW.
