Chest Physiotherapist
Beatrice comes with over 25 years experience as a physiotherapist in respiratory care across hospital, community and private care settings. She also enjoyed time as a researcher and published in the BMj and the Journal of Gerontology.
She trained in England and earned her degree from the University of East London. She worked in London, Auckland, before settling on the Northern Beaches.
She developed her respiratory skills whilst working in London at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in many different areas of physiotherapy such as medical, surgical, cystic fibrosis, and post transplant wards. She provided acute respiratory care in emergency, intensive care and palliative units. She spent time in long term ventilation unit looking after patients in the iron lungs and cuirasse, and assisted physicians in the sleep clinic.
She ran pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation clinics whilst in New Zealand. In Sydney, she worked at Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals and spent over 15 years with HITH (Hospital In The Home Service) treating patients with chronic lung diseases.
She developed a particular interest in bronchiectasis care and uses the latest technologies to improve airways management and to optimise musculoskeletal health.
With a wealth of experience in respiratory physiotherapy care, Beatrice brought her skills to the community and set up a private clinic in Brookvale. She is now delighted to be joining North Shore Respiratory & Sleep and extend her scope of practice to the North Shore area one day a week.
