Dr Brennan is a consultant Respiratory and Sleep specialist. He graduated from the University of Sydney, followed by junior doctor and basic physician training at Prince of Wales Hospital. He went onto complete specialist training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Royal North Shore, Westmead and Liverpool Hospitals, followed by a Clinical Fellowship at Westmead Hospital, during which he gained further experience in the management of complex respiratory failure, non-invasive ventilation, pleural procedures and bronchoscopy.
Dr Brennan holds a Staff Specialist position at St Vincent’s Hospital, where he manages general respiratory and specialist airways diseases clinics, is a member of the multi-disciplinary team meetings for lung cancer and interstitial lung diseases, in addition to regularly supervising and teaching both students and junior doctors. He provides a monthly general respiratory clinic service at Griffith Base Hospital.
Dr Brennan enjoys being a respiratory generalist, with practice covering all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine, including Airways Disease (COPD, emphysema, asthma, bronchiectasis), Lung Cancer and nodule assessment, Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary vascular disease, Pulmonary infection, Bronchoscopy, Pleural Disease and Sleep Medicine. He holds active competency in flexible bronchoscopy, linear endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), chest drain insertion and thoracic ultrasound through the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ).
